International Baccalaureate in Alicante  

King’s College Alicante is an IB World School authorised to deliver the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Alicante. King’s Alicante offers the broadest IBDP curriculum in the local area and also provides the opportunity to be awarded the bilingual diploma at the end of Year 13.

The school, recognised as one of the tops performing international schools in Spain, is the only IB school in Alicante that has the broadest educational offer of the IB Diploma Programme in the region, as it includes a wide variety of subjects and specialties unavailable so far in Alicante. In addition, the entire program will be taught in English, with the exception of modern foreign languages.

About the IB Diploma

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB) is an academically enriching two-year Sixth Form qualification. The strength of the IB programme lies in its holistic structure. As well as requiring academic rigour in the six subjects studied across Mathematics, Sciences, Languages, Arts, and the Humanities, the IB core components ensure that all pupils have a broad education, allowing them to develop their creative and critical thinking abilities and their research skills.

The IB Diploma is graded out of 45. A maximum of 7 points is awarded for each of the 3 higher level (HL) and 3 standard level (SL) subjects. A maximum of 3 further points are awarded for the Extended Essay and Theory of Knowledge course. All grades are associated with clear 18 guidelines which explain the standard achieved by each pupil.
